TWO-VEHICLE COLLISION ON I-40

On April 18,2026, Highway Patrol State Troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision on I-40 outside of Flagstaff. Troopers arrived on scene and conducted an investigation. It was determined that the commercial motor vehicle (CMV) pulling an Amazon trailer rear-ended a Ford Bronco hauling a U-Haul trailer at interstate speeds based on the dash camera in the CMV. Three people in the SUV were transported to a local hospital with injuries after their SUV rolled off the highway.
The CMV driver was arrested for reckless driving and three counts of endangerment.
👮 Larger vehicle means more time needed to stop. If you’re driving a commercial vehicle, hauling a trailer, or just own a large vehicle, provide plenty of space between you and the cars ahead of you. If you need to stop suddenly, you’ll have enough room to do so safely.
