Holbrook, AZ: On November 18, 2025, at approximately 9:39 p.m., the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 40 near milepost 260 in the Winslow area. During the stop, K9 Jax was deployed to perform a free-air sniff of the vehicle, during which he gave a positive alert.
A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of more than 70 pounds of THC concentrate, over 178 grams of marijuana wax, and nearly 2 pounds of marijuana. Deputies also located a firearm inside the vehicle. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is approximately $1,636,680.
While Arizona law permits adults to possess limited amounts of marijuana for personal use, the quantity found in this case far exceeds legal possession limits and clearly indicates trafficking-level activity, which remains a serious felony offense.
The occupants of the vehicle, Juan Diaz-Torres (27), Roberto Reyes (39), and Luis Alfonso Martinez Reyes Jr. (40), all residents of New Mexico, were arrested and booked into the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center on multiple felony charges.
The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to combating drug trafficking and keeping dangerous narcotics off our streets. K9 Jax and the Criminal Interdiction Unit continue to play a vital role in these efforts.
