Expect restrictions as work continues on US 60 pavement project between Vernon and Springerville Dec. 29 & 30
No restrictions in place Dec. 24-26; winter shutdown starts Dec. 31
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers that the pavement rehabilitation project along US 60 between State Route 61 and Wildcat Creek (milepost 369) will continue lane restrictions from Monday, Dec. 29, through Tuesday, Dec. 30.
Drivers can expect the following restrictions weekdays during daylight hours:
US 60 is reduced to one lane only with alternating east- and westbound travel in 3-mile segments between State Route 61 and Wildcat Creek (mileposts 353-369).
Drivers will be directed through the work zone by flaggers and a pilot car.
A 12-foot vehicle-width restriction will be in place.
Drivers need to be prepared to make frequent stops when approaching and driving through the work zone and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the restrictions are in place.
Restrictions will be lifted each day after work hours.
No work or restrictions will take place Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Friday, Dec. 26.
The project will go into a winter shutdown after temporary striping is completed on Tuesday, Dec. 30. Crews return next June to complete the project with a chip seal pavement treatment, installing rumble strips and applying permanent striping to the roadway.
