Expect daytime lane restrictions on US 89 near Bitter Springs June 30 through Oct. 30 as pavement preservation project begins

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for daytime lane restrictions on US 89 near Bitter Springs for pavement preservation work. The project area is about 20 miles south of Page.

The following lane restrictions will be in place from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 5 a.m. to noon on Fridays:

US 89 will be narrowed to one lane only with alternating north- and southbound travel between mileposts 524-531.
A pilot car and flaggers will guide drivers through the work zones.
Drivers should allow extra travel time and be prepared to make frequent stops when approaching and traveling through the work zones.
The speed limit will be reduced in the work zones.
Restrictions will be lifted each day after work hours.
